A visual and performance artist in Northern Ireland with a particular interest in socially engaged practice inspired by the telling of tales. Wells works within the narrative to explore embedded theories of identity. These narratives are driven by the dissolving of truth into fiction through the collating of tales, resulting in the evolution of origins into myths.
Wells draws parallels between places through connections to post-industrial history globally. This is explored in a variety of ways; through devised performances that include video, through movement and dialogue, rooted in context of time and place.
Wells lives in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where they are currently working with Household and is a member of Array Collective and a Co-Director of Catalyst Arts.
