PeasPark, as part of Belfast Photo Festival
Yvette Monahan
Ends 30 June 2024
Yvette Monahan is an Irish photographer who explores the intangible in external and internal landscapes. In her ongoing series This Unending Story, she explores resonance and consciousness through space, soundwaves, ancestry, and octopuses. The work is an epic meditation on our ability to sense and understand our environment and the ways we are connected to it. This work has been informed by the artist’s research into Louise Bourgeois, Agnes Martin, Ursula Le Guin, Minor White, octopus mythology, cosmic expansion, evolutionary biology, and spiritual midwifery.
For this special outdoor event, PS² presents one large evocative image from the series within the PeasPark Community Garden in North Belfast. On Sunday 9 June, Yvette Monahan will give insight into her work and share her diverse research through a series of special readings within PeasPark Community Garden. Botanical refreshments will be served.
