Davy Mahon

Davy
Mahon is an artist
and curator based in Belfast.
Davy is a
frequent collaborator and has worked with a variety of artists, organisations and
creatives. After graduating from University of Ulster with a first-class
honours, he delivered a variety of exhibitions, residencies and events. Davy is
a previous co-director of Catalyst Arts and Platform arts from 2011-2015, and for the past two years he has been
working in education. This experience has informed his practice, to help engage
and create conversations about inclusivity and accessibility of art that relate
to all.
He most
recently contributed some works to Array collective Turner Prize winning Síbín (Coventry), works for
the Amabie Project (Belfast/Japan),
as well as content and organisational support for the online collective She Sells Sanctuary raising money for domestic
violence charities.
Davy Mahon has been working on a project called
Dungeon in with which he had solo show in the Ulster Presents Gallery in Ulster University in January 2023. Dungeon runs in distinct phases and marries the literal and metaphorical
underground through site specific works and curation. The locations so far have
remained a secret.
