From musical composition to conceptual noise. 5 days of performances and talks

Curated by Min Kim and Barry Cullen

Ends 21 June 2014

This festival over 5 days of contemporary sound practices, covers a range of positions, from musical composition to conceptual noise, featuring Belfast based sound artists, composers and improvisors. Each day is curated under different themes, presenting multiple artists and works.
This project is inspired by the recent electronic music sessions by Barry Cullen in PS². As such it is spontaneous, with little preparation time for the two curators Barry Cullen and Min Kim and consequently for the involved musicians, composers, sound designers....

The curators
Barry Cullen is a sound artist with a broad experience in teaching. He recently completed his 'Noise Box V1' project in PS² - see.

Min Kim is a sound artist and improvisor who mostly works publicly under the name 'Una Lee'. For more info see. Throughout the festival, the audience of each day will be asked to write down their feedback between a word and a sentence in length on a post-it. The notes will be displayed in the gallery and used as the score for the solo improvisation by Una Lee.

PS² would like to thank Sonic Arts Research Centre, SARC, Queen's University, Belfast, for the support of this festival.
